The department has a well planned modernized kitchen with cooking Ranges, tanthoori pot, Salamander, Micro-oven and the Bakery lab has 3-deck oven, Model Training Restaurant and a Model House Keeping lab to train the students in the appropriate trade.
After the completion of 3 years B.Sc. Hotel Management course our students can be placed as management trainees, guides, employees, supervisors, Junior level managing executives in leading star hotels, motels, restaurants, flight catering, industrial canteen, guide, mobile catering, railway and airways catering in India and in foreign countries, besides being self-employed caterers/hoteliers.
Besides industral visits to star hotels at Cochin, students underwent winter training and summer trainings. The department conducted one day workshop on "Mexican and Italian Cusine" with Chel Balakrishnan, Executive Chef. Chef Senthil Kumar, Sous Chef. Aadarsh Hamilton hotel, Bangalore.
IECD of Bharathidasan University and Bharath College of Science and Management jointly held a one day orientation to the studetns on "Promotion of Youth Enterpreneurship".
